PMU Brows

Permanent make-up is a technique where coloured pigment is implanted beneath the surface of the skin with tiny, sterile, disposable needles. It is also known as semi-permanent make-up, cosmetic tattooing or micro-pigmentation.

Permanent make-up pigments are designed to gently fade over time, unlike body tattoos which use ink. Fading is desired as it allows the artist to make changes to colour and shape over the years as the client’s natural colouration and facial changes occur, and brow trends change. Body tattoo needles also go a lot deeper in the skin compared to needles used for cosmetic tattoos.

I offer multiple different types of permanent make-up for brows, enabling you to have perfectly shaped brows without the need for make-up. The different types allow you to opt for a perfectly subtle to a more dramatic look. Your skin type may influence which technique is best for you.

Hyperrealism

Hyperrealism£315.00

This technique is where wispy, overlapping hair strokes create a hyper-realistic 3D effect, via a permanent make-up machine. An excellent choice for those with little or no natural eyebrow hair. Ideal for clients whose skin is too oily for microblading and would like a super realistic look.

Can last up to 2 years depending on your skin type and lifestyle. Annual colour boosts can keep them looking fresh.

Combination

Combination£315.00

A combination of hair strokes and shading to build definition through the strongest parts of the brow whilst keeping the overall look fluffy and natural with hair strokes.

A great choice for every skin type. Can last up to 2 years depending on your skin type and lifestyle. Annual colour boosts can keep them looking fresh.

Ombre

Ombré£315.00

A more defined style of brow with softer fronts. Ideally for clients with brow hair looking for more shape and definition or to cover up old permanent make-up. Ombré brows can still be as soft or defined as you like and every brow I do is tailored to each client based on enhancing their natural features and the desired outcome.  Perfect if you like the make-up look and suitable for most skin types, especially oily.

Can last up to 2 years depending on your skin type and lifestyle. Annual colour boosts can keep them looking fresh.

Microblading

Microblading£315.00

Fine hair strokes better suited to dryer skin types. Partially or fully camouflage missing brow hair. Choose from a fluffy or more natural brow.

Can last up to 2 years depending on your skin type and lifestyle. Annual colour boosts can keep them looking fresh.

Oily skin types are generally better suited to machine strokes which achieves the same natural result.

Microblading and Shading

Microshading£315.00

Fine hair strokes better suited to dryer skin types. Partially or fully camouflage missing brow hair. The use of shading adds more density and fullness to a microbladed brow.

Can last up to 2 years depending on your skin type and lifestyle. Annual colour boosts can keep them looking fresh.

Oily skin types are generally better suited to machine strokes which achieves the same natural result.

How do I book?

New and existing clients can book a consultation via my online booking system. If you cannot find any availability, please message me via WhatsApp on 07715 303440 or email [email protected].

A consultation takes approximately 30 minutes and includes a patch test. When booking a consultation, Siena recommends you provisionally book your treatment and retouch dates to avoid a long wait (these can be cancelled if you decide not to go ahead). The consultation booking fee is £15 and is redeemable against the cost of your treatment.

Consultations can be moved or cancelled with at least 48 hours’ notice, otherwise the consultation booking fee is forfeited. If you have some pictures of the look you’d like to achieve, please bring these to your appointment. You may wear eyebrow makeup as you would normally so we can take this into consideration.

At the consultation, if you decide to go ahead with the treatment, a booking fee of £100 is required to secure your treatment and retouch dates, and will be deducted from the final fee. This must be paid at the time of the consultation, otherwise the dates will be released to other customers.

Your treatment date can be moved or cancelled with at least 1 week’s notice, otherwise the booking fee is forfeited. Should you fail to attend your treatment, the full amount is required. Your retouch date can be moved or cancelled with at least 1 week’s notice, otherwise it will not be rebooked. No further bookings will be made unless any charges are paid in full.

For colour boosts, the same terms apply with a booking fee of £50.

You can read my Small Business Protection Policy in full here.

Frequently asked questions

DOES IT HURT? Pain threshold levels vary from person to person and every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the entirety of the procedure. Having a treatment during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort.

WHAT FACTORS SHOULD I CONSIDER? Pigment colour used (lighter colours fade faster), lifestyle (sun exposure, smoking), skin type (oily, mature), age (the longer skin cells take to regenerate, the longer the pigment holds), medication, the immune system and chemical exposure (facial peels, chlorine, anti-aging products etc, if in contact with treated areas) can affect the results and longevity. Final results cannot be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently and break down at different rates. I will re-evaluate how your skin has received the pigment at your retouch and make any changes necessary.

WHAT SHOULD I AVOID BEFORE MY TREATMENT? Alcohol and certain medications act as blood-thinners and should not be taken prior to and following your appointment. Coffee and energy drinks also. All of these can contribute towards bleeding and any bleeding during the tattooing procedure will reduce the amount of pigment absorption. You will be provided with pre-treatment advice which MUST be followed to get the best results.

WHAT WILL I LOOK LIKE IMMEDIATELY AFTER? Your semi-permanent make-up will appear darker and more intense than expected for the first few days. This will gradually lighten during the complete healing process. Redness and swelling are minimal. You will receive post treatment advice, which MUST be followed to get the best results, as well as experience a comfortable healing process. The healing process takes around 6 weeks. During the first 2-3 weeks in particular, you should take care when sleeping and showering etc. This is all fully explained in your pack.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED? For most clients, a minimum of two treatments is usually needed, at least 6 weeks apart. With most procedures, the colour looks dramatically lighter after the first week. It is also normal for strokes to completely disappear around 2 weeks after the initial session. Some clients prefer the lighter look, while others opt for a bolder look. At the second session, we will assess the colour retention and make adjustments as necessary. Everyone heals differently and at different rates. If your cosmetic tattoo does not heal perfectly after the first session, do not worry! We can always go darker and add more density during your next appointment.

WHAT ABOUT LONG TERM CARE? SPF50 sunscreen should be applied daily AFTER healing and is required to help keep colour true. As with any tattoo, sun exposure will make the colour soften faster. Fading speed depends on your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, pigment colour used, broken capillaries, and if any chemical peels were done after your procedure. If you are planning a chemical peel, laser treatment or other medical procedure, please inform the technician that you have had a cosmetic tattoo. Careful application must be taken to avoid affecting the tattooed area. Swimmers can apply Vaseline to help reduce the effects of Chlorine.

WHAT ARE COLOUR BOOSTS? Permanent make-up typically fades over time and needs to be refreshed every 1-2 years. I like to see fading at at least 60% before a colour boost. Frequency of colour boosts depends on a number of factors (see ‘What factors should I consider?’ above).

IS THE SALON & EQUIPMENT SAFE? Absolutely! I pride myself on having an immaculate and sterile studio space. I only use single-use, disposable needles and supplies. This means that each set-up for each new client is discarded safely afterwards. My work area is thoroughly disinfected before opening and after each procedure throughout the day. My salon has been inspected by East Lindsey District Council and complies with its requirements.

WHAT IF I ALREADY HAVE TATTOOED EYEBROWS? They will need to have faded almost entirely and I will need to see them BEFORE booking a consultation. I may advise upon removal first.
