PMU Removal
Lift, remove and improve microblading or permanent make-up eyebrow tattoos.
At Brows by Siena, we offer two different types of permanent make-up (PMU) removal, which you can read more about below. Both are a process, not an overnight solution, but well worth the time and patience to achieve better brows.
Reasons for removal:
- Emergency removal of an eyebrow tattoo gone wrong
- Lifting out pigment from oversaturated areas that have built up too much pigment density over time
- Lightening pigment that has healed too dark
- Lifting and removing unwanted pigment that has been applied in an unflattering shape or design
- Correcting small areas – perhaps a brow tail that is too long, or a stroke that is out of place
- Lifting out ‘skin stain’ – the russet/orange residue of degraded iron oxide pigments
- When your feelings, fashions, preferences and/or circumstances change
Method 1 – Laser
Siena has been trained by the best removal experts in the industry to remove old unwanted brow tattoos.
Styles, preferences, and even skin tones can change over time. Siena can provide a tailored solution for permanent makeup removal using state-of-the-art laser technology.
Laser tattoo removal is a non-invasive procedure that leverages the body’s natural processes to gradually fade the tattoo. The laser uses concentrated laser beams to break down the pigments in your skin. These pigments are then naturally expelled by your body by your immune system, ultimately fading the tattoo over time. It’s a clinically proven, safe and effective way to erase a tattoo.
The procedure can target specific colours and areas, allowing for precision that leaves surrounding skin unaffected. Siena is able to treat tattoos of various sizes, locations, and colour depths. It is a safe procedure with minimal side effects.
This scientifically backed approach ensures safe, efficient, and precise removal, whether you want to modify your look or completely remove the makeup. Whatever your reason/s for removal, Siena is committed to providing you with the care, respect, and confidentiality you need during this process.
The following factors need to be considered: the amount of pigment inside the skin, the depth and colour of the pigment, age and location of the tattoo, skin type and how well your lymphatic and immune system work.
If you are planning to have new permanent makeup, less sessions will be required, as we need to lighten old work rather than remove it completely.
Why Laser?
Each session is very short – it takes around 30 seconds to work over one eyebrow for example.
Laser removal may produce quicker results than the salt & saline method and the healing process is more pleasant aesthetically. However, salt & saline can be used on any colour, unlike laser, which cannot remove colours like white, beige, yellow, green and blue. The two treatments can be combined though where necessary.
Brow removal is £80 per session and for small tattoos, prices start from £40 per session.
Method 2 – Botched Ink® Salt & Saline Removal
Botched Ink® is an award winning product that removes unwanted or over-saturated pigment gently, comfortably and safely.
It is a concentrated hypertonic saline solution for tattoo removal which, when implanted into skin, dries the area and lifts away unwanted pigment molecules during the natural healing process.
Botched Ink® removal works best on pigment that is as fresh or new as possible. Areas that have had many applications of pigment over the years, or are more saturated or have potential scar tissue, may require more sessions as each layer of pigment molecules lifts out of the skin.
Most clients see improvement after 2-3 sessions. However, any type of pigment removal is a process, and as a rule a minimum of 3 sessions are advised initially. This is because pigment can initially look a little darker as molecules that are deep in the skin rise up from the dermis to the surface during the process.
After the initial 3 sessions, an assessment can be made and further sessions can then be booked, depending on the lift achieved and the desired end result.
The advantage of this solution is it can be used in emergency cases.
Why Botched Ink®?
The patented formula of this product has a PH that closely resembles that of healthy skin, meaning that it is gentle and non-irritating for the client, with no lingering burn or sting. The formula also includes Aloe Vera which helps the solution soak into the skin, minimising the need for trauma, which in turn prevents scarring.
The ingredients have been chosen for their drying and healing properties, which means that areas like eyebrows dry out within the hour. You can leave the salon feeling confident.
Prices start from £95 per session.
